Week 9- another week already??

Hello from your favorite California girl!! I think I am adjusting to life here quite well! It was 75 degress the other night and my comp and I were shivering we were so cold haha. Things are great here in California!! I LOVE IT!! This week flew by! So many good things!!!

Monday: We were having a really hard time getting in touch with Veronica, one of our potentials to the point that we were almost going to drop her. This was our last attempt. We prayed to Heavenly Father to let Him know that if she wasn't home we were going to stop coming by but if we still need to teach her that He would give us a sign. Well He did!! She was finally home and we taught her the Plan of Salvation and she now has a baptismal date!!! So amazing!!!

Tuesday: Had lunch with all the missionaries in our ward and our ward Mission Leader, Hermano Escobar. He makes the BEST smoothies! Soooo good!! During KO I had my first run in with a basher. Hopefully this experience will teach me how to better handle it in the future! We consoled ourselves with froyo so in others words, esta bien. haha

Wednesday: We tried stopping by Veronicas again and couldn't get inside. Her apartment complex is huge and people are always coming and going but not tonight. After 15 minutes of waiting we prayed to HF and said if someone does not come within the next 5 minutes we're leaving because we want to be using His time as He would have us do. At exactly 5 minutes someone came and let us in! So cool!!

Thursday: We had exchanges with the STL's and what a day it was! So many ups and downs!! But a really great day overall!! We had our District Meeting in the morning which was way awesome!! We read the story of Christ raising Lazarus from the grave. So powerful hearing so many different interpretations of the same story. One Hermana shared something that I love...she pointed out how Christ comforted Martha and Mary differently. With one He expressed words of comfort and with the other He cried. Christ knows us all individually and exactly how to comfort us. How beautiful! When I read this story I pictured Lazarus as our sins. Sometimes we barry our sins; we place them in a tomb assuming they're too far gone. But they're not. We're not. When we remove the stone that covers that part of ourselves, and have the faith to take a step forward, Christ can set our sins free. How beautiful!! He's the best!! Later that day during KO we were in a super sketchy area and ended leaving early because it didn't seem very safe. As we were going to visit another potential we got a flat tire. Pero esta bien!! It ended being an inflicted blessing!! Some of the Elders came to help us and we tried to place a BoM before they got there. Because of this we met a man named Mauricio and he told us that as he had been leaving work just 30 mins earlier the question had come to mind "Why am I here? What is the purpose to life?" I was like WE HAVE YOUR ANSWER!! haha we gave him a baby Plan of Salvation lesson and he loved it! Said he'd come to church and English classes and it was so great!! God works in mysterious ways and it's so amazing seeing how He does it!! That night the 4 of us Hermanas stayed up forever talking about the gospel and it was so spiritual and amazing!!! Great day!!
Friday: Got our car fixed up at PepBoys. Aparently they deal with a lot of missionaries haha. On our way to teach Robin (one of our investigators) we met a girl named Krysalynn and taught her the first lesson and she loved it and it was soooo amazing!! Wish I had more time to explain it but it made me so happy. I felt like a little angel delivering a life of happiness. haha missions are the bomb!! Sadly she doesn't speak Spanish though so we have to give her to the English missionaries but hey as long as she hears this message somehow esta bien!! We had dinner with the YSA Hermanas haha they're the bomb! So funny! Love them!!

Saturday: Got to teach Benjamin and his wife! During KO an older man opened the door and passed out right in front of us! I was convinced he had just died and God had put us there so we could call 911! So crazy!! As we were calling 911 he woke up! ALIVE!!!! But he was super confused and really angry. Luckily his wife came out and was able to help him. We think he might of had a stroke or heart attack of something. No se. Super scary though for a second!! Had dinner with the RS president and she is soooo sweet!!! Such a good example! She made us orange juice 100% from oranges. SOOOO BOMB!!!

Sunday: What a glorious day! I love the Lords day!! Church was good! Still trying to understand Spanish haha but it's coming! We met two less actives during KO which was great! Both want to start coming back!! Had a lesson with Benjamin again and had two members come!! They kinda took over at certain points and were going into super deep doctrine but we tried to steer it away from that and teach simply and by the spirit. haha they meant well but our missionary minds were freaking out haha. We taught the Plan of Salvation! I love that lesson!!

Overall the mission is wonderful! I love the people and finally feel like we're starting to get in the groove of things!! Spanish is still a work in progress because there are a million different accents here but it keeps it fun! haha the food is really good and diverse! The members never eat with us, they just watch us eat haha and they serve us sooooooooo much food! Still amazes me I can eat it all. God blesses His missionaries in a lot of different ways haha. Miss ya'll!! You're in my prayers!! Hope all is well in everyone's lives!! Keep me posted!! Mucho amor!!
