- ANDRES!!!!!! SUCH A MIRACLE!!!!! At the start of last transfer Hna Giles and I were looking through our area book at Former Investigators and found a man named Andres who had been investigating back in 2013. We went by and found him home! He was SO happy to see us and wouldn't stop raving on and on about the church!!! He asked us to come back the next day so we did! We started to teach him lesson one and he told us he wants to be baptized and go to church every single Sunday.......starting in January because he was leaving for a month and a half for El Salvador. NOOO!!!! We were so sad but pumped for January. This past week we thought about how we should visit him but it never worked into our schedule. Then on Sunday we were fasting so that our Invs would come to church and only one person came. We were so sad!! But as we were walking into church this man came over and started talking to us. He looked familiar but we thought he might just be from another ward who just started meeting at the same time as us. At the end of sacrament meeting he came up to us again and asked if we were going to class and we said yes and were still super confused on who he was. As we were setting up chairs for gospel principles I finally asked him if he was from the other ward or from our and he said no Hna I live here on Cantlay and at the same exact time Hna Giles and I scream "ANDRES!?!?!" IT WAS HIM!!!!!!!! He had just gotten back from El Salvador 2 days before and decided to come to church to see us and we had completely forgotten what he looked like! IT WAS SUCH A MIRACLE!!!!! HE LOVED IT!!! He said he's going to come every single Sunday and that we can visit him whenever we want! Also, one of the Elder's Inv is his friend! We went over later that day and he didn't have any time but we convinced him to listen to a scripture so we shared Moroni 10:32 and talked about how baptism is how we can be perfected in Christ. He agreed and we told him that his friend Rosa is getting baptized on the 27th of this month and he said he'd go and then we asked if he wanted to get baptized that day and he said YES!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!! We're going back tonight and we're sooooo excited!!!!!!! THE CRAZIEST MIRACLE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Gloria texted us last night out of nowhere and apologized like 12 times and asked if we could meet with her again and talk!!! HECKS YEAH WE CAN!!!! Hopefully we can figure out what went wrong and help her get baptized ASAP!!
- We met with Maximino this past week and taught him about baptism and asked if he wanted to go watch a baptism in 2 hours and he said yes and we were able to find a ride right away! He went and he LOVED it!!! Now we just have to get him to go to church instead of leaving for Palmdale every weekend to see his family!
- Christian is another bap date we have who doesn't have a phone, works 2 jobs, and it's SUPER hard to get into his complex. But we've been able to teach him 5 lessons already!!! What a blessing!!! He needs to come to church too!
- Oscar is suppose to get baptized next weekend but we still have a lot to teach him and he just left for Sacramento because there was an emergency with his daughters there. Pray for him!!! ALSO he was super pumped to come to church but sprained his ankle playing bball the day before. NOOOO!!!
- Angelica is also on date and doing sooo well!!! She has so many amigas now in the church and calls us all the time because she loves us so much! I bore my testimony this past Sunday and made her cry!! (I was also crying...obviously!). I love her so much!!! Also, she said that there's been several times that she's been crying because of a lot of rough stuff she's going through and in the moment she starts to cry we call her. God is too good!
- La familia Vargas is the bomb!! Judy, the mom, is a less active member and we're helping her 2 little kids who are 8 and 9 get baptized!!! They're the cutest!! More prayers for them too please!!
- We met an awesome guy during KO and committed him to baptism!! He thought we were super funny and told us we spoke good Spanish and then correcting himself and said "well I mean I can understand you" lol thanks? haha we were dying!
- We haven't been able to see Francisco in forever because he's been sick and we planned to stop by his house but we didn't have time because we were running late (per usual) but as we walked out of Maximino's complex there he was walking home from the store!!! Milagro!!!
- Super sad that our Prophet Thomas S. Monson passed away. Our roomies and us said a prayer together when we found out. I love that man. So grateful for his example. We talked about a lot of stories where he followed spiritual promptings and they were just so beautiful!
- I'm loving the way the church is having 3rd hour now! So fun to talk about GC talks!!! It's amazing and super powerful!
- Hna Giles has made me laugh to the point where I'm crying and almost pee my pants everyday this past week! Bless her!! haha I just love her so much!!!
- The church is TRUE!!!!! I love being a missionary and never want it to end!!!! Thank goodness it doesn't have to!
