Week 68-2018!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Where the heck did 2017 go!?!?!?!

These past 2 weeks have been crazy!!!!
Our week leading up to Christmas was probably the hardest week of my mission (cops were called on us, Gloria didn't get baptized, we were yelled at a lot, etc.). But this last week was the bomb!!!! Some of my fav parts....
Judy Vargas!!! She's a less active member who lives in our apartment complex. I've knocked on her door SO many times and no one has ever been home until this past week!! She opened the door and invited us in and we just love her!!! She's going through a really rough time in her life and needs God now more than ever and is so grateful we found her!! AND she's having us teach her kids and her 8 and 9 year old are getting baptized next month!!!! AAHHHHHHHHHH what a miracle!!!

Angelica!!! It was her last chance before we dropped her and she is ready to recommit to being baptized!! We've had several lessons with her this past week and brought members to each one and it they were amazing!!!! We brought the Mejicano's (aka the CUTEST recent convert couple ever!!!) and they could not stop testifying of how amazing the gospel is and baptism!!! It was so freaking awesome!!! Angelica came to church and sat with them and felt so happy!! LOVE IT!!!

Nick!!!!!!!! He's actually our favorite human being ever!!! Hna Giles ranked him second to God. LOLOLOL!!! He's a 36 year old man from Romania who was super against learning when we first met him. We're always in his complex though so we worked our magic and convinced him to listen to our message!!! When we came by for the lesson he had bought us chips and salsa and mango sparkling cider!!! So yummy! We taught lesson one and he is just the most hilarious person ever and we're his biggest fan girls!! haha can't wait to keep teaching him!!

We went out with Jose to dinner and he brought all of these people with him and I almost cried!! It was Jose (I baptized his mom), Estela (found her and she got baptized), Isaac (found and baptized him), Claudia (Estela's daughter who is getting baptized next month who I also found!!!), a man who had just gotten baptized, and Hna Giles (aka my fav person ever)!!! It was the best!! Then Jose FaceTimed Hna Hopkins and I LOVE her too!!!! <3

Obispo had us over for tamales and he is sooo funny!!! He loves Hna Giles and I so much and is obsessed with the idea of us marrying a hispanic one day because he thinks our children will be beautiful! lol

We had zone conference and it was super good!!! We went up to the other valley so I wasn't able to see all my buds but it was still super fun and uplifting!!! We talked about the Book of Mormon a lot and how we'll keep doing the experiment here (WHOOP WHOOP!!)

Last night we had about 20 mins before we had to go home and we realized that all of our planed stop bys were old people who were proably asleep. We sat in the car trying to figure out what we should do and said about 15 ideas when Hna Giles said "How about we go see Aldo?". Brilliant! We haven't seen Aldo since her second day in the mission when we committed him to baptism. He was the coolest!! This was his last chance and we found him!!! He was super messed up on drugs and really apologetic about it but he's still interested and wants us to come back tonight!!! YAYYYY!!!!!!!
One of our drunk friends kissed our cheeks this week to wish us a happy new year. Yikes! haha

Lucio and Maria!!! Hna Smullin and I (on exchanges) were trying to get into a complex and were yelling through the fence hoping someone would hear us when an old man starting wheeling over to us!! About 10 mins later he finally made it to us and had me wheel him back to his house!! We met his mom who is 90 years old!!! And started teaching them!! They're adorable and sooo sweet!!!

President Russel M Nelson (THE NEXT PROPHET!!!) is coming to visit our mission!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!

Freaking out about how I have to go home in 2 1/2 months. Don't want to think about it!!!

I love being a missionary!!

MUCH LOVE!!!!!

We saw this crazy things going on in the sky and it looked like aliens!!! Turns out there was a rocket launched or something like that. We were freaking out! haha

CRAZIEST STORY!!!! Hna Thongrit and I OYMd to this kid named Tyrone (turns out that his actually name is Xyn, pronouced zion lolol) and he walked up to us and kissed our hands and wouldn't let go of them and was being super flirty and said he wanted to us out to dinner and I said "We actually don't date as missionaries" (It's a running joke now that all the Hnas keep teasing me about lol) and he freaked out!! He was so offended that we thought that he wanted to date us! haha (he told us later that he actually does though) so we went to In n Out after KO to meet up with him (crazy, we know) and a less active family bought us dinner!! Tyrone/Xyn showed up later and we taught him L1. It was interesting. haha he lives in LA so hopefully the missionaries will find him there!

Isaac bought me this super teeny tiny keychain. Too cute!!
