Here's what we've been up to...(sorry in advance that it's so long!)
We made like 100 little turkey's that said "Estamos agradecidas por Ud(s)" aka "We're grateful for you" and 8 batches of rice crispy treats to give to all the people we love!! And for some reason we thought we'd be able to make and deliver all of those, go to 2 dinners, a lunch, do weekly planning (because we still hadn't and spoiler alert....we never did!!! YIKES!!!), and district meeting. Let's just say we were basically running around with our heads chopped off all day but it was super fun!!! And we still have like 50 to pass out! haha
I ended up having THREE Thanksgiving dinners!!
On Thanksgiving we ate with the Lombardo's (first) AND THERE WAS SO MUCH FOOD!!!!! The whole table was full and it was so yummy and we were digging in and then they said "remember to pace yourselves, these are only the appetizers" AHHH!!!! haha we were stuffed!!! THEN we went over to the Mejicano's and ate a bunch of Salvadoranian food with them and some other members! We were clearly struggling to eat even more though so they were super nice about it and gave us a ton of food to go!! haha
Then on exchanges the next day we ate with the Giron's (the Bishops family) and they had spent their whole thanksgiving serving the homeless so they always have it on Friday so we had it again!! They are the SWEETEST!!! I love them!!! We shared the Light the World video with them (GO WATCH IT!!!!! mormon.org) and Hna Giron said that she wants her bday present to be that they make sandwiches for the homeless and then go pass them out. CAN THEY GET ANY NICER?!?!?!? TEARS!!!!
We OYM'd to this man who is now a new Investigator and when we asked what his name was he pulled out his ID because he said it's hard to say. It's.....MELKISIDEC!!!!! We were like NO FREAKING WAY!!! haha spelled differently but still too cool!!!
We had our 80 year old ward mission leader who has gout walk 30 mins in the hot sun to a lesson with his cane. Come to find out that him and our cute old friend Maximino are both tailors which was super cool!!! BUT Maximino's nephew showed up and he and our WML just bashed the whole time!!! It was crazy!!!!!! I think I interuppted them about 17 times. I called them out. I raised my hand. Hna Giles shared a scripture. And they wouldn't stop!!! We ended up standing up to leave and I said a pray to ask God to forgive us for what had just happened. Oh man they were crazy!
I "tatood" someone with our phone number and name with a sharpie. He promised it would be better if we wrote it on him rather than a card. lolol our drunk friends are too funny!!! BUT while I was doing it this super MA YSA kid named Nefi walked up and I was like I know you!! And he bought us dinner and we gave him a little guilt trip about church because he hasn't been in 2 years and we think it definitely helped him!! haha
We almost dropped these super old couple we found a few weeks ago and we went back for their "last chance" and they were so happy to see us!!! The husband had read the whole pamphlet and had tons of questions!!! So so cool!!!
Angelica came to church and loved it!!! The full first 2 hours!!!
We had a magical KO where we found super awesome people and I was walking up the walkway to someones house when all the sudden I see someone sitting down and I screamed because it was dark and I hadn't seen him! Poor old Gilberto had just had eye surgery and was convinced that I was terrified of his bandages haha poor guy but he's a new Inv!!
The next day we had a really weird KO and only had 15 mins left and we were just not feeling it. So we decided to say a pray and walk upstairs to this complex and this little kid was running around and led us to his mom who is now a new Inv!! Tender mercy!!
I biked like crazy the other day on exchanges and on one of our trips we were riding past a Baskin Robbins when all the sudden this old woman ran down the ramp with her walker and almost took out Hna Hoopes and then face planted. We stopped to help her and talked to her for a while and it turns out she was on a walk to go buy some weed. Oh California.
We also got 4 flat tires on 3 bike while on that exchange and spent nearly 2 hours straight just riding back and forth because we kept forgetting things. Oh man! haha
We keep getting hit on like crazy and this one guy even stopped his car on the side of a major road to talk to us and we were like oh gosh. Turns out it was a potential we have though and he's still interested!!!
We knocked this door during KO and met a man named Richard who gave us old fashioned cokes because he loves mormons!!! He lived in Salt Lake for 10 years and loves our religion and the WoW and Law of Chastity and everything!!! haha he was super pumped to give us his info so missionaries can go teach him!
One day during KO I told Hna Giles about all my favorite foods/drinks that I've had on my mission and within the next 24 hours WE HAD EVERY SINGLE THING!!!! #BLESSED!!!
EVERYONE KEEPS GIVING US TAMALES AND FOOD!!!!! We haven't bought grociers in 2 weeks!!! #MSFprobs but we still have soooo much food in our fridge!!! We have over 30 tamales in there!!! haha
MISSIONARY WORK IS THE BEST!!!! I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!!!! MORE AMAZING THINGS HAPPENED BUT THERE'S NO TIME!!!! I LOVE LIGHT THE WORLD!!!
LOVE YOU!!!
