Hermana Arenas and I had back to back exchanges (so we weren't together for 2 days in a row) but it ended up being a huge milagro!!! We had received a referral earlier in the week and were planning on going by on Wednesday. For some reason we weren't able to make it. I got back into the area on Friday right before KO and as we were getting ready to leave, I looked at where we were going to KO and it just didn't feel right. Hna Sanchez then said, "Maybe we should KO somewhere else. We were never able to stop by that one referral on Wednesday" So off we went! At this point we were with Sister Keller and once we got there we realized that SHE had been the one to send in the referral!! We knock on the door and it's this Russian woman who doesn't speak English!! NOOO!!! BUT Sister Keller remembered that it was actually in a different part of the complex. We started knocking and met Rita, a 19 year old girl who just got here from Chili and whose baby is coming from Chile this week! We taught her the message of the Restoration and she loved it and committed to be baptized on November 18th! As we were leaving we asked if she knew someone named Andrea (the less active referral). TURNS OUT THAT'S HER MOM!!!!! SHE'S A GOLDMINE!!!!! We were so pumped and freaking out!!! God's timing is so so perfect and He wants our families to be together forever!!! So so amazing!!
Our ward is having Friday night activities every week in the month of October and it's so fun!!! This past week we went AND THERE WAS SO MANY PEOPLE FROM OUR AREA THERE!!!! A ton of Investigators, less actives, and members that we are working with came and it was amazing!!! My comps and I spent our time playing with the little kids duck duck goose and hot potato. It was a blast!!
At the activity, Gloria (a goldmine mom who is always up and down with teaching and wanting to be baptized) came up to us and asked if we were coming to eat with her the next day. Turns out she's been inviting her friend to meet us because her son is really struggling and Gloria knows that this gospel will bless her. We went to the dinner and met Joana and put her on date and she's really excited!! We told Gloria about it once she finished cooking and asked if she'd also be baptized that day AND SHE SAID YES!!!! For the past 3 transfers that I've been here she's been super against committing to a date but now she wants to!!! HAPPY DAYS!!!!
THEN Hna Mateos (the cutest member ever) told us she wants us to teach her roommate. For the past 3 transfers I've eaten there once a week and the roomie has never wanted to learn but we went by last night and SHE DID!!!!!! We taught her the Restoration and she loved it!!!
SO SO MANY REFERRALS SO SO MANY GOLDMINES!!!! HAPPY HAPPY DAYS!!!!!!!! WE ARE SO BLESSED!!!!
Many many more miracles happened this past week but those are by far some of my favorite!!! I love being a missionary! I love California and the 80/90 degree weather we still have! I love fall!! I love the Church! I love it all!!!!
