It's been a super awesome week!!! Here are some highlights....
Francisco!!! Hna Giles was with another trainee who's in English work while I was on exchanges and she met this man named Francisco who speaks no English and she taught him all of lesson 1 by herself!!! I was so proud!!! We went back to find him yesterday and he's super interested!! He's been reading from the Book of Mormon she gave him and he knew it was a sign from God that we found him because he had been in his backyard all day and just came in to grab something when we knocked his door! So so cool!! ALSO he thinks one of the people who rents out a room in his house is mormon!!! YAYY!!!! So pumped for him!
Autumn! We met Autumn last week OYMing while she was getting into her car to leave. We gave her a card and she said we had the most beautiful smiles and that she just loved us. Yesterday we were walking and we saw Autumn again sitting at the top of the stairs to her apartment! She ran downstairs to give us hugs and when we asked when would be a good day for us to visit her she said Wednesday without any hesitation! So so pumped for her!!
We ate dinner with a group of members last night and they invited us over for Thanksgiving!!! We have 2 dinners lined up for that day already haha. One of them is gonna be super American (which I'm SOOO pumped for!!! I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!!) and the other is gonna be SUPER latino!! They're gonna make us sopa de pata aka a soup with pig hooves and pig uterus!! haha can't wait for that one! lol poor Hna Giles was freaking out
We had zone conference and it was the bomb!!!! SO many good things!!!!
- BECOME the message and BE the light!! Becoming is a consistent thing progression. I love that!
- We talked a lot about helping people come to church. Our mission found 1570 New Investigators last month! That's insane!! And if we can get those people to come to church SO many people will get baptized!!!
- We're getting smart phones!!! President said he can't do anything to stop it haha! All the US missions are getting them within the next few months!
- The Light the World initiative comes out this Friday and IT IS SO GOOD!!!! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!! SOOOOOO excited to start using that to help bring people unto Christ!!!
- AN APOSTLE IS COMING IN JANUARY!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'M SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!
We had dinner with Jose and Isaac and their friend Victor (grandson of my converts Felipe and Estela) and it was super fun!!! Jose keeps calling us to sing us songs about God and is going to be bringing us back things from Florida! haha he's the best!!
We met this cute old man named Maximino while knocking doors and he's so funny!!! We asked him what his phone number was and about halfway through telling us he started spelling his name instead hahahah he's adorable and wants to get baptized!!!
I seem to have a bajillion drunk/homeless friends that I keep introducing Hna Giles to haha!
We watched the YSA #facetoface last night and it was so good!!! Church is true!!! Also the girl announcer is a convert and grew up with one of the Hnas in our zone so that was cool for her to see!!!
CHURCH IS TRUE!!! I LOVE GOD!!! I'M SO EXCITED FOR THANKSGIVING!!!! AND CHRISTMAS WILL BE HERE BEFORE WE KNOW IT!!!!! AHHH!!!!!! JOY!
