Week 10- HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

What a week! It has flown by!! Things are going great!! Life is so good! I just wish everyone could know how happy our lives can be through the gospel of Jesus Christ, pero esta bien that's why I'm here!!

Monday I got a "greenie" package from the fam. Love y'all!! And all the missionaries from our ward had dinner with our Obispo (Bishop) and it was freaking awesome!! Love that family!! Probably the most "American" night we've had haha. We actually dished our own food and they ate with us! Como eso? He made me really excited to start working even harder!

Tuesday was weekly planning. How is it already the 5th week of this transfer?! Time is flying by! So so crazy!! We taught Robin again that night and extended a baptismal invitation and he said no pero ESTA BIEN!! We asked him why and he basically said it's because he's already been baptized twice and he knows it's not a joke so he doesn't want to just get baptized into another church if he doesn't know it's true. Pretty impressive answer for a 13 year old. We have faith he'll come around!!

Wednesday I was studying on what it means to be a successful missionary. I was reading my friend Elder Cody Smith's letter and he said something I loved! That our success is based on our effort and not other people's agency. Whether or not other people will accept the gospel or not, we are blessed for giving them that option. So so true. Our effort as missionaries, or even as members trying to share the gospel with our friends, is never a waste. God will bless us for our righteous desires!! We had Coordination with Hermano Escobar for lunch and he made his bomb smoothies again. Bless! We met Robin's dad (also named Robin haha) at dinner that night and got to talk to him a little bit! Hopefully he'll want to start listening to our lessons too!! During KO we were freezing!! It was a bitter 63 degrees!! I know it doesn't sound THAT cold but we were dying!! haha but it made me super excited for the holiday season!! Oh how I love this time of year!!

Thursday we had district meeting and it was so great per usual! I love the spirit I feel when our district is together. Such a beautiful thing! Hermana Nelson and I gave a training on being a successful missionary. I love that in PMG, the very first sentence talks about how it's our commitment that determines our success. It's not if we baptize 15 people or have x amount of lessons every day, it's if we are committing ourselves to His work and diligently seeking to become more like Him. We are the only ones who can determine our own success. My comp said that "We've already succeeded in a small way. We're here as representatives of Jesus Christ. That's not something to take lightly" Loved that! Our DL also said some things I loved...that each one of us has a specific purpose in being here, so go find out what it is! And that if you'd like to receive a blessing in your life, go look to see what God has asked us to do in order to recieve it, and do it! Me encanta! During KO we also met some super awesome people! I love that everyday we get to go out and see a glimpse into the lives of so many of God's children. What a beautiful thing it is.

Friday we spent 3 hours organizing a huge binder of antiguos (old investigators). So many souls to find! Made me feel so pumped!! In the afternoon we got some of our most interesting cat calls yet. Our favorite was from an old man slowly driving next to us who said "I don't want to touch you, I just wanna look at you. Your parents' gene pool was great!" haha thanks? He was luckily harmless and quickly drove away after that. We had dinner with the familia Romo and I LOVE them!! The wife had cancer in her leg 12 years ago so they amputated it and she only has the one and they've been members for 7 years. They are so sweet and just awesome people. There are so many amazing individuals in our ward! I love getting to know all of them!!

Saturday was such an awesome day!!! On our way to visit an antiguo I thought "let's knock on that door" so we did and these 3 kids answered (Benjamin is 15, Krishna is 10, and the little girl is 6) and we taught them the first lesson and they said they'd be baptized!! It was awesome! They were so excited for us to come back so we scheduled an appointment for Sunday and they said that'd be great because Benjamin and the little one are going back to Chile later this week. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! PORQUE?!?!?! lol our hearts died when we heard that! Pero esta bien!! The Lord's work is the Lord's work whether we're the one's teaching them or not! It was a super great lesson to me though about the spirit. Because it wasn't a huge pressing feeling I had to go to their house but a small thought that passed through my head and it made me realize just how quiet the promptings from the HG can be. But they're there! We just have to focus so we can hear them!! Later that night we went to a baptism for one of my comp's old investigators. Our mission does something so so cool! It's called the missionary minute and several missionaries basically teach the first lesson while pausing to sing verses from Joseph Smith's first prayer because it helps reemphasize what they just bore testimony to. It was so spiritual and beautiful! I can't wait to see more of those throughout my time here and to be in some too!! Our ward's Thanksgiving party was right afterwards and it was awesomoe! SOOOO much food!! SOO yummy! It was a lot of fun to get to know our ward better and feel like a family!

Sunday was great as always! I just love the Lord's day. It is so beautiful! We had consejo de barrio (ward council) which went well and then church. I love church. It makes me so happy! I wish I had realized how amazing it was sooner and how amazing it is to take the sacrament. To renew my baptismal covenant every week. Oh how God blesses us people!! We keep finding super prepared people during KO!! But they're never under our jurisdiction haha. Either YSA or English pero esta bien! It POURED during KO! We were so cold! But rain brings investigators! Esta bien!! We taught Benjamin and Krishna again and it was freaking awesome!! They want to keep learning and are so genuine!! We wanna teach their whole family! The parents were super friendly but couldn't listen because they were cooking but next time hopefully we'll get them all! We plan to teach them about the Plan of Salvation tonight and I'm so excited!! We called President Henrie about finding missionaries in Chile that can teach them and it turns out one of his really good friends is the mission president there! Church is true!!! Haha life is so good!!!

Another really quick thought...General Conference is the bomb.com! I'm in love in reading all of the talks that were given!! Some that really touched me this week were Elder Holland's "Emissaries to the Church", Elder Yamashita's "Be Ambitious for Chirst" and both of President Monson's talks from this past session of conference. Everyone go back and read conference talks!! They are modern day revelation! How amazing is that!! They are sooo beautiful!! I promise you, your lives will be blessed for doing so!!

I love and miss you all and hope you have the most amazing Thanksgiving ever as I'm surrounded by a ton of people who don't celebrate it haha!! It's gonna be great!! Mucho amor!!
