WEEK 14-FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!

So happy to see pictures of Elaine on their Missions Facebook Page!

Merry Christmas to all my non Spanish speaking loved ones!! How is it already almost Christmas?!?! Time is FLYING by!!! This week has been great!!! I have felt so lucky this past week to do what I do. I have met so many amazing people and had incredible conversations with them about our Savior because God has let me serve a mission. I have felt so incredibly blessed and happy. God is so good!!!! Some highlights of the week...
  • We taught a WHOLE FAMILY earlier this week!!! The mom had forgotten about our appointment but still invited us in and gathered all her children to listen to our lesson which NEVER happens. Our members don't even have their kids meet with us when we visit! It was awesome!!! And the dad joined in at the end! We have high hopes for them!!! I can't wait to meet with them again and help them all come unto Christ together!!!!! HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!?!?!? AHHHH I'm so excited!!!
  • We keep meeting the most amazing people during KO and while we're looking for referencias and whatnot. Three of my favorites have been Otiti, Sarah, and Aman! Otiti is from Nigeria and just recently moved here with her husband and two little girls. We were trying to get into an apt complex to visit an antiguo and she let us in and then invited us to her house. We shared the Christmas video with her and she loved it. She thinks her husband has been meeting with missionaries from our faith while at college so she loved that we met her and she was so interested in the church! We left her with a BoM and prayer. The English Missionaries should be stopping by later this week and I'm so excited for her family! Sarah is a photographer we talked to and she takes the most BEAUTIFUL WEDDING PHOTOS I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!! She was amazing!!!!!! And Aman we met yesterday. He's Islamic but is studying all these different faiths and already has a BoM and wants to learn more about our church. He was SO COOL!! And gave us each a Qur'an which was way nice! haha. He's gonna come to church with us even though he doesn't know any Spanish whatsoever but he wants to see what it's like anyways so that should be fun!!!
  • Our ward Christmas party was canceled about a month ago but last week Obispo changed his mind and gave everyone a week to plan everything! It was crazy but ended up turning out great! We called the woman in charge to see if she needed any help (expecting to set up decorations or something like that) and she called us back saying she wanted us to put on a skit about the woman that lived and interacted with Christ....it was quite the project! We had 2 days to take a 8 page long skript with 5 songs, cut it down, translate it, call people to fill parts, and figure out costumes, amongst all the other things we have to do as missionaries! It ended up working out great though! That day we had emergency exchanges so my comp and another Hermana from our ward could finish translating and we could still visit people but it ended up turning into a miracle because we got a new investigator!! Sochil and she's super cute!!! There's a picture of her bird on my shoulder that I'll try to send next week! And the ward loved our performance so todo esta bien!
  • Every 6 months the mission goes to the temple and last Thursday we went and it was amazing!!! The LA temple is SOOOO beautiful!! I loved being there with so many other missionaries. It was an amazing experience!!! I would encourage everyone to go as often as they can!! I miss it!!
  • Saturday we went to Operation Gratitude as a mission. It's an organization that helps make packages for people in the military. It was a lot of fun and made us all feel really good. They have a lot of respect for the missionaries because we've been helping them for years and always come whenever they need us. I love being a missionary!!! It's the coolest thing. So humbling.
  • 2 Nephi 31 has easily become on of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon. It talks all about the Doctrine of Christ and is so powerful. I love that God has given us everything we need to return back to Him. He is so good!!
Being a missionary is exhausting but so so amazing!! I love my Heavenly Father so much. I am so grateful that He sent His son to die for us and atone for our sins so that we can live with Him once again. I am so incredibly grateful for the example Jesus Christ sets for us. He lives and He loves us and I know He's with us every step of the way. We are so incredibly blessed. I would encourage all of you to visit mormon.org and watch the Christmas video the Church has shared this year. It touches my heart every time. Life is so beautiful. I feel so lucky to be here everyday. Love you all and hope you have a very merry Christmas!!
