So time is FLYING here in California! Super freaky but things are so great!!!
We had another week jam packed of milagros and happiness!! I LOVE being a missionary!!
This past week we were asked to be in a focus group with some people from church headquarters!!! Super cool!! It was us and 4 other companionship's and we got to talk all about the temple visitor center! It helped me remember what a blessing it is to have access to that and to be able to bring our Investigators there!!! I love the church and it was super cool to be able to meet people from the research center and hear about how they help run certain aspects of the church!
At the start of my first transfer here (5 months ago) we met a man named Candelario and had lots of crazy experiences with him!!! (i.e. we have no memory of ever meeting him, he kissed us, he brings us crates and crates of oranges, etc.) but we ended up dropping him (not teaching him anymore) because we could never meet with him. BUT this past week he called us and said he was going to come to church this Sunday and that he'd been reading from the Book of Mormon!! We taught him the Restoration again right before church and committed him to be baptized on July 29th!!! It was such a miracle and really showed me how powerful prayer is! We had prayed to have 5 people preparing for a specific baptismal date by the end of the week and only need one more to meet our goal and Candelario made it happen!! God works in very mysterious ways and I love seeing how everything falls into place so perfectly!! I would have never even imagined Candelario would be our 5th person preparing for baptism but he is!!! God is so good!
Yesterday as we were knocking doors we met this older woman who wanted nothing to do with us but then she ended up inviting us in to pray for her. Turns out her husband has Alzheimer's and she has a bad knee and we helped them change a lightbulb and taught them a little bit!! They are SOOO cute!!! Espeically Juan. Such a cute old man! We accidently broke their chair while trying to fix the lightbulb and had to stand on the sink but it we got a kick out of it!
Maria Covarrubias is on date!!! She is 75 and super cute and just an abuelita and we got her to commit to a date!!! Huge miracle because she's always been very opposed but now she's getting ready for July 1st!!! WHOO HOO!!!
We had a meeting with all of the leadership in the mission and it was sooo good!!! I love this mission so much and everything we strive for! I love President and Sister Henrie! I love life!!! Things are great!
Our ward had a father's day party and it was so fun!!! I LOVEEE these people so so much!!! They crack me up!!! SOOO many characters in this ward! It's a blast!
Isaac is amazing and progressing so well!!! We taught him the law of chastity and before we even said anything he almost word for word quoted the pamphlet on the definition of the law of chastity!! He's sooo prepared!!! Can't wait for him to be baptized!!! He's been going on visits with ward members to less actives even! He was late to our lesson because he was visitng a less active with an old Hermano! He's the best!!! haha
