Hermana Elaine Marie Pfeil: Week 66- 5 TRANSFERS IN VAN NUYS 5TH!!!!!

WE'RE BOTH STAYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE SO SO HAPPY!!!!!! I JUST LOVE HNA GILES SO STINKING MUCH!!!!!!!

This week has been awesome!!!!

GLORIA IS GETTING BAPTIZED!!!!!! After a YEAR of Investigating Gloria is getting baptized THIS SATURDAY!!!!! PRAY FOR HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went over and shared Moroni 10:32 and said, "Gloria the way to be perfected in Christ is through baptism" and she said "I know! I don't know why I'm not baptized yet, I'm ready" AND THEN SHE PULLED OUT THE BAPTISMAL QUESTIONS AND READ THEM AND KNEW ALL THE ANSWERS AND SAID SHE FINALLY WANTS TO DO IT!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHAT A MILAGRO!!!!!! We're just praying all goes well leading up to this Saturday. Satan has thrown everything possible at her this past year and we could use all the prayers we can get!!!

We went to the temple this week with the mission!!! It was awesome!!! Happened to fall on my 15 month mark #quincenera (ALSO WHAT THE FREAK?!!?!? WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE???) and I loved it!!! GETTING THERE WAS SO STRESSFUL THOUGH!!!! The Hna taking us wanted to leave at 9:30 to make it before 10:30 but we convinced her to leave at 9 so we actually left at like 9:15 because latino time, but TRAFFIC WAS SO AWFUL!!! (As always). We didn't make it to the temple until 10:27! AHHHHHHH!! She stopped the car and I looked at Hna Giles and said, get ready to run and then we sprinted!! Hna Giles swears she's never seen me move so fast haha I was taking the steps 5 at a time!!! AND WE MADE IT!!!! I also changed in like 20 seconds and ran barefoot through the temple. The poor workers were super thrown off haha

We got these super awesome investigators named Kelso and Jose who crack us up! We passed them off to English YSA and I missed it because I was on exchanges and Hna Giles said it was the most awkward lesson ever haha so sad I missed it!

We met the coolest girl named Kylene the other day!! She answered the door during KO and said "I'm so stressed right now; I have so many deadlines and I'm freaking out! Would you like to come inside for some water?" haha ok! We went inside and it turns out her moms best friend is a mormon and she knows all this stuff about our church and loves it!!! We were drinking some water and talking about the San Diego temple super casually and it was so cool!!

Christian!!! We OYMd to someone the other night and he said one sec I have to go get my kid, so we waited and when he came back he told us that he grew up next to a mormon family and use to meet with the missionaries!!! He accepted a baptismal date for January 20th and we're meeting with him again tomorrow night!!

Jose took us out to BEEPS again and got us more Florida stuff!! haha love him!!!

We had the heaviest KO ever!!! We met a referral named Eva who told us within the first 20 seconds of meeting us that her son had committed suicide and she thought she was sent to this life to suffer and that others were sent to be happy. It was so heart wrenching!!! The spirit was working through us so strongly and we were able to share that God did love her even though awful things happen. She wants to start coming to church with us! THEN we met a woman named Patrica who told us that she's severly depressed and needs God back in her life. She talked about the parable of the 99 sheep and how she was the 1 who was lost. As she said that, Hna Giles told her to look at the front of the pamphlet and it was a picture of Christ holding the 1 lost lamb. The spirit was so strong. We all cried!! She wants to start coming to church too!!

The Vivars are the best!!! They're a goldmine family we love and we made them the cutest reading calendars and we all just love each other so much!!! Spirit was super strong with them this past week too!!

Our wards Christmas party was super fun but we left during the middle to go give hugs to some Hnas who were taking transfers pretty hard. I sure love them!!

We're getting roomies again!!! Super pumped!!! The other STL is coming to live with us so that'll be super nice!!!

We have lots of drunk friends on different corners in our area and this past week we met with a group of them while they were pretty close to sober and made all 4 of them New Investigators!!! They were super interested!! They then insisted on giving us chicken and went and stole some oranges off of someones tree to give to us haha

We found 7 new investigators in ONE DAY this week!!! It was so cool!!! God is preparing so many people! One of them happened because we were going to go visit a goldmine family but we saw a huge group of people walking into their apartment and I felt super awkward so I chickened out (sorry!!) BUT it ended up leading to a milagro because I just walked in the opposite direction and stopped at a random door and knocked it and a man named Arthur ended up walking up to that door as we waited! He doesn't believe in God but we shared the Book of Mormon with him and he LOVED it and we were able to see his heart soften before our eyes!!! So so cool!!!
