- Alma, the mom of a part member family (PMF) that we eat with all the time, recently had a death in the family and she asked us where we go after this life. We briefly shared the Plan of Salvation with her. It was amazing to see the blessing patience is. We knew that eventually she'd want to know more and now is her time! Little by little she will be converted to the Lord!! LOVE her!!!
- We have started teaching some really amazing people this week! Daniela is a 17 year old girl and when we showed up she was sleeping but we woke her up and asked if she would prefer to reschedule for another time but she wanted to know right then so we taught her in the doorway! She's great! Maria Chim is the mother of 11 children! AH! She is super solid and we really love her! Angeles!! Our investigator Mirna had surgery a few months ago and we haven't really been able to meet with her for a while. We went over with the intention to possibly "drop her" (stop teaching) but she answered looking like a million bucks! We ended up picking her daughter Angeles up and now they are both learning together! So great!!!
- Our Investigator Candelario who brought us a huge crate of oranges brought us some more! We met him at the Home Depot and he wouldn't stop trying to hug us and then he ended up kissing us! AHHHHH!!!!! Luckily it was only on the cheek but we were in such shock we didn't know what to do! AHHHH!! We haven't seen him since but we're gonna have to have a stern talking to with him!
- Ana is still waiting to be baptized. Another 6 months! She can do it!!! We're only going to be having dinner with them once a week now and sharing a short message instead of teaching twice a week. This past week we shared a scripture about the stripling warriors and Ana summarized the whole story for us before we even taught it! She's amazing! Love her so so much!!!
- Hermana McGlinchy and I taught a lesson during our district meeting about "Going about and doing good" it made me cry. I feel so incredibly grateful to serve the Lord right now. The mission has been the greatest decision of my life. Such a blessing. Everyone who is able to should serve a mission. I wouldn't trade this time in my life for anything!
- We had to drop Martin's baptismal date because he can't get all of his papers and the money for their marriage in time before his baptism. It was so sad. He cried and shared how he is so grateful we came into his life and that he's never been happier. It was such a tender moment. We love him so much!! BUT THERE WAS A FREAKING MILAGRO!!!! Our zone leader's mentioned to President that money was standing in the way of Martin's baptism and he said that the same day we had dropped Martins date a crazy old lady had thrown a $100 at some Sisters and they had turned it into the mission and the mission decided to give it to Martin so he can be baptized!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! We found out this morning and started jumping up and down and screaming!! We went over to Martin's to tell him and he looked so happy!! The ward is really coming together to help him be baptized by the 8th!!! Please keep him in your prayers!!!!
- At the horse farm we went looking for our Investigator Juan and we saw him pooping in a bucket!! AH!! It was hilarious and we ran away!!!
- Jose came back from Florida and he bought us bomb sushi and brought us a ton of presents from Florida! It was so fun!! haha love him!! He wore his all white suite this past Sunday. So funny!!
- Women's Conference was soooooo good!!! I LOVE THIS CHURCH SO MUCH AND THE GOSPEL AND MY SAVIOR AND EVERYTHING!!!!! Already can't wait to read them again!!!
- There's a referral we've been trying to find the past few weeks but every time we've gone by he's working but his wife is always home! She's really sweet but is always busy taking care of her son who has cerebral palsy so she can't talk a lot and tells us to come back another time. Yesterday we stopped by again and she invited us in! We met her son and her daughter ended up showing up as well. We were chatting with them for a while when the mom said "I have something to say. I want you to come to our celebration tonight." It was the son's (Antonio's) 29th birthday and we had been talking about his party and she ended up inviting us!! SO funny!!! We didn't have a dinner and it worked with our schedule so we said ok! We showed up with 2 balloons and we walk in to see that it was only their very immediate family and us. SOO funny!! They had us serve ourselves first and when we had to go they insisted we stay for cake. They asked us to take a picture with him too, just us two! They didn't even want a family picture with them! We were dying haha. We had them take a picture with him too and as the mom was scrolling through she skipped the family ones and went straight to us and said "Look how happy he is". They sent us home with a 1/4 of the cake and asked us to please come back whenever we have time. It was the funniest thing and actually a really fun time!!! They love us!! Can't wait to go back and hopefully start teaching all of them!!!
Hope everyone has a great week!! Much love!!!
