Here are some highlights from our week....
- Ana, one of our favorite investigators, is on date!!!!!! March 11th!! She hasn't been able to be baptized for various reasons but now her and her family are getting the ball rolling so she can finally enter into that sacred covenant with the Lord!!! We had the most powerful lesson with her and her family about eternal families and temples! Everyone was crying! Such an amazing experience!! Can't wait to see the Lord work more miracles in their lives so that she can be baptized by March 11th!!
- A series of events led us to a menos activo's house and on our way there we passed by an elote man (they're everywhere! they wheel around little carts and sell corn lathered in hispanic goodness!! so yummy!!). We asked if we could give him a card of Jesus Christ and as we were inviting him to visit the website on the back (mormon.org, I would highly recommend it haha), he goes, "I've been reading the Book of Mormon for the past two weeks" WHAT?!?!?!?! Turns out his friend gave him a BoM and he's been reading it and praying for an answer and was in the process of praying for one that night on his way home from work when we walked up to him! He told us he thinks we're the answer to his prayer!! Hermana McGlinchy and I were so excited we high-fived him!! haha!!! It was such a testament to us of the importance of opening our mouths and testifying to everyone that Christ lives and loves them and that He has a plan for all of us!! I love being a missionary!! We're suppose to be meeting with elote man (Jose, everyone is named Jose) this Sunday!!! Can't wait!!
- During KO last week, we met this family of 6 (5 of which are Inv age) who use to meet with the Elders 4 years ago. We had a lesson with them this past week and they are amazing!! So solid!! We have another lesson with them tomorrow night and we can't wait!!! Being a missionary is so great!!!
- Elder Arden from the 70 came to our mission and it was amazing!! We learned so many things and it made me so excited to do the Lord's work! He and his wife are from New Zealand and they were so great! I have such a love from this gospel and my Savior. I am forever indebted to Him. We are so blessed!!
- Last Pday we rearranged our entire apartment so that now Hermana McGlinchy and I have our own study room. It's so fun! We got the couch in ours so we spend a lot of time working on that! We love it!
- Both Hermana McGlinchy and I got packages from our families and a ton of letters this past week! It was such a nice surprise!! Thank you to everyone who wrote me!! It made my day!
- My District was selected to volunteer at a community event this past week which was great! Also, we volunteered at Operation Gratitude (a sight where we assemble packages for people in the military) with a couple zones which was super fun!
- The missionary schedule has changed!! Worldwide! We love it! It's taking some getting use to but it's so awesome!! A lot more liberty to schedule our days in the most effective way possible for us!
- The weather here is amazing!! Sooo warm!! It's been in the 70s the past few days. It feels amazing!
- Our Spanish is coming along! Todovia estamos aprendiendo pero esta bien!!
Overall, I am just so incredibly happy to be here with Hermana McGlinchy, representing our Savior Jesus Christ. There is no where else I'd rather be. I have such a strong testimony that He lives and that He loves us. I feel so blessed to be able to share this message with dozens of people every single day. He's done EVERYTHING for us. Oh how blessed we are!! Love and miss you all!! Hope you're having amazing weeks!!
