ANA!!!! Our Investiagor who we put on date last week might be getting baptized THIS TRANSFER!!! aka WITHIN THE NEXT 3 WEEKS!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Chris (her husband to be) paid off all of his IRS debt on Saturday (which usually takes months, if not years to do) and found out that he just has to fill out some forms this week to get divorced so he can marry Ana!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! They told us this during our lesson with them on Saturday night and we all couldn't stop smiling and screaming!!!! My cheeks hurt so bad!!! It is truly miraculous!!! He's going in on Wednesday to do the paperwork so we'll find out in our lesson that night!! AHHHHHH!!! AND we're teaching the law of chasity on Wednesday so we can commit them to a marriage date!!! hahahahahah the life of a missionary is so hilarious and amazing!!! SOOOO incredibly happy for them!!! SUCH A MIRACLE!!!! This family deserves it!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! STILL SO AMAZING TO ME!!!!
- On Saturday night we stopped by a couple (Josi and Thomas) that we had met during KO almsot 2 weeks ago. Our first lesson had fallen through with them and they hadn't confirmed our lesson that night but we stopped by anyways. They were home and we taught the Restoration and they both said yes to baptism!! AHHHHH!!!! Thomas came to church the next day and he seemed to really enjoy it!! We had an amazing testimony meeting and he cried afterwards because one of the testimonies had touched him so deeply!!! Old hispanic men crying is surprisingly the most adorable thing ever!! haha AHHH can't wait to commit them to a date later this week!!!!
- This week we picked up (started teaching) SEVEN new Investigators!!! For our mission, that's insane!!! It's been so exciting!!! One of them is named Benjamin and we met him during KO. He said we found him at exactly the right time because he's in a really dark place and was about to start drinking. His dad died 7 years ago and he doesn't know if he'll ever see him again. We bore testimony of the Plan of Salvation and promised him that one day he will be with his father again. It was such a powerful conversation!! We were both crying! I feel so incredibly grateful for my knowledge of eternal families and the oportunity we all have to live with our families forever. The church is so true!!! It is sooo good!!! I love it with all my heart!!!
- Saturday we had a missed call from a number that neither of us had any record of but they left a voice message and said they wanted to come to church the next day!! Milagro!!! We called him back and told him all the information and he said he'd be there!!! What?!?!??! No one ever just calls us!!! Apparently we had met him during KO while he was working and we gave him our number. The whole next morning Hermana McGlinchy and I kept going through different people we had met to try to figure out who it was but we had no idea! When we got to church someone came up to us and it was him!! We both still have no memory whatsoever of meeting this man but he totally knew who we were!!! He stayed all 3 hours at church and said he wants to come again next week!! AHH!!!! Hopefully we can start teaching him before next Sunday so he can become an Investigator!!
Here are some funny experiences from this week...
- Our zone had interviews with President Henrie this past week. We knew that President would ask how our biking was going but Hermana McGlincny and I had procrastinated taking our bikes out so we ended having to do it the morning of interviews. In the POURING RAIN!!! We looked crazy!!! haha We were out there biking with reflector sashes accross our chests, singing songs at the top of our lungs, all while passing a ton of school traffic. It was so funny!! We had been out for about 20 mins when all the sudden my peddle started to feel wobbly. I yelled up to Hermana McGlinchy to ask what I should do when all the sudden THE WHOLE PEDDLE FELL OFF!!!! Not just the black part where you rest your foot but the WHOLE thing!!!! So crazy!!! We tried calling all of the missionaries that live in our apartment at least 5 times each and no one would answer us!! We were stranded, looking crazy, in the pouring rain! It was hilarious!! We ended up walking home before anyone could come and help us! haha
- During KO we knocked on the door of a big house that looked kinda like an office. They invited us in and told us that we were in a transition home. aka a home where ex-convicts live for a couple of months to get back on their feet and adjust to the real world. WHOOPS!! There were 41 ex-convicts in this house....and US!! Everyone was very nice because they're all looking for God but we still tried to get out of there pretty quickly! haha We left one man with a Book of Mormon and a lot of cards of Christ. It was a very interesting experience! haha!
- Jose (a recent convert) is one of our best friends out here!! haha He's been taking us out to get food almost everyday this week. He came to KO with us yesterday and looked like our body guard behind us. So funny!!! We ended up knocking on the door of his ex-girlfriend from when he was 12. He use to walk her home from middle school. He's 45 and they still remember each other!!! IT WAS SOO FUNNY!!!!! We love Jose!!! What a goof!
Some spiritual insight...
- Alma 5. If you want a freaking amazing chapter to read in the Book of Mormon, go read Alma 5!!! SOOOO GOOD!!!
- The Master Healer, It's one of the talks from the Women's Session of General Conference. SO SO SOOOO GOOD!!!
- Repentance. We taught Ana and her family about Repentance again this past week and it really strengthened my testimony of what a beautiful thing it is! Repentance means change. It's when we change for the better. When we choose to follow Christ. I am so grateful that I can repent every single day to come closer to my Savior. We don't have to wait until we commit a big sin to repent. I would invite everyone to make repentance a daily habit. There is such power in repentance!!!
- This morning I decided to study the word miracles because I have felt and experienced so many this past week. Here are two phrases that I loved from the Bible Dictionary... "Miracles were and are a response to faith, and its best encouragement. They were never wrought without prayer, felt need, and faith" "Miracles are a part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. If miracles cease it is because faith has ceased" I love that our faith controls whether or not we experience miracles. I know that the stronger our faith is, the more miracles we will see. There are miracles happening around us every single day. We just have to recognize them, and through faith we can! Ether 12:12 is a really great scripture on miracles as well!
Hermana Pfeil
P-day hike!! Love her!!
Fro-yo with Ana, Chris and Paul! (we gave that scooter to Paul and he brings it EVERYWHERE with him now!! He calls it his Holy Scooter!! haha)
You may notice that there's a peddle in my hand, and not under my foot.
